How to Make a Gingerbread House Christmas Card
During Christmas, thousands of cards are purchased and mailed to friends and family. If you don't have a huge Christmas list, you may want to consider saving money and creating some fun Christmas cards of your own. Children can also use these instructions to make gingerbread Christmas cards for their classmates.
Instructions
-
-
1
Fold a piece of brown construction paper in half.
-
2
Draw a square on your folded construction paper with a pencil. Make sure you use the folded edge as the left side of the gingerbread house.
-
-
3
Draw a triangle above the square to form the roof of the gingerbread house.
-
4
Draw a chimney off of the top of the triangle. Make sure that you put the chimney on the right side of the gingerbread house so it doesn't interfere with the fold.
-
5
Hold the card together and cut out along the outside edges to form your gingerbread house shape.
-
6
Paint your gingerbread house to look like it has icing all over it (or snow). Do this with white out. The white out comes with a little brush attached to it so you can just use that. Make sure you go over all of your pencil marks so no one sees them.
-
7
Paint a door and two windows on the gingerbread house with the white out. Give your door a door knob by painting a little circle.
-
8
Paint "Merry Christmas" on the inside with your white out. Leave room for the rest of you message to be done in pen or markers.
