Adobe's Premiere Pro is a powerful piece of software that can be used for a number of video applications. One common use of Premier Pro is to create custom animations, which requires the user to set keyframes that the program uses as reference points for the final animation. Keyframes are not always on, however, and the keyframe mode must be activated before the animation can be made. Here is how to activate keyframing so that you can create your animations as you desire.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Adobe Premiere Pro
  1. Step 1

Open Premiere Pro and open the project that you want your animation to be in. If you don't have a project already set up, create a new project and place the elements that you wish to animate into a clip.

  2. Step 2

Click on the Timeline panel to select the specific clip that your animations will appear in. This will allow you to access the controls for that clip in the Timeline panel.

  3. Step 3

From the clip's controls on the Timeline panel, click on the "Show Keyframes" button. This will turn on the keyframes and allow you to add or delete new keyframes as needed.

  4. Step 4

Use the "Add/Remove" keyframes button to add additional keyframes to the clip as you move the elements that you are animating. This can also be used to remove keyframes that aren't needed or which you have decided aren't quite what you want.

Tips & Warnings
  • Remember to save your projects often to help avoid data loss.
