Second only to being properly hydrated, avoiding hunger is vital to enjoying your day of snowboarding. Getting hungry not only affects your mood, but it also can make you sloppy and more prone to injury. Eating on the mountain doesn't have to cost a fortune, though--with a little planning, you can refuel on any budget.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Trail mix bar
  • Other small snacks
  1. Step 1

Eat a hearty breakfast before you go snowboarding. Eggs, toast, bacon and oatmeal are all good ways to start your day that will help you avoid hunger while you're on the mountain.

  2. Step 2

Avoid caffeine in the morning, since it can make you burn calories more quickly, therefore making you hungry.

  3. Step 3

Bring trail bars with you in the pockets of your snowboarding jacket or pants. Other small snacks, such as nuts and dried fruit, are also good options.

  4. Step 4

Snack before you are starving to give your body the boost it needs.

  5. Step 5

Stop at an on-mountain restaurant for a meal if snacking isn't enough. Cheaper options usually include soups or a slice of pizza.

  6. Step 6

Drink plenty of fluids while you are snowboarding, which will help your performance and make your stomach feel full. See "How to Stay Hydrated While Snowboarding."
