Shuck individual ears of corn and rinse well.

Place corn into stockpot and fill with cold water. To boil perfect corn on cob the water must cover no more than one inch over ears of corn. Cover pot with lid and place on stove top.

Turn heat to high and bring water to a boil on stove top. As soon as you see steam escaping (or hear your lid rattling), turn burner off. LEAVE pot on the burner and DO NOT DRAIN or remove the lid until you are ready to serve!

Your ears of corn can remain in the pot with lid on for as little as 15 minutes or for several hours before serving. This is the simplest and best way to boil perfect corn on cob. Enjoy!
