1
Cut a styrofoam ball in half. A parent should do this ahead of time. You need only half of the styrofoam ball to make this craft. If you want to make 2 turkey pencil holders at once, you can use the other half at the same time and just double the instructions. You will need a sharp knife to cut the styrofoam ball.

2
Paint the styrofoam piece brown. It will become the turkey's body.

-
3
Set the turkey's body aside to dry and begin working on the face. You will need to draw a big circle at the top that is attached to a thin oval at the bottom. This should all be done in one piece. The round circle is the head, and the oval is the neck.
-
4
Glue a pair of eyes on the top part of the circle.
-
5
Cut out a beak from yellow or orange construction paper. Glue this under the eyes on the face.
-
6
Cut out a whittle from red construction paper. The whittle is the red thing that dangles off of the turkey's face. Glue the whittle to the side of the turkey's beak.
-
7
Glue the face and neck to the front of the turkey if the paint is dry. If not, wait until the paint is dry. The styrofoam half ball should be flat against your workspace area. Any side can be used as the front.
-
8
Take a sharp pencil and poke holes in the back of the turkey where you are going to want to keep your pencils. You might want to count how many pencils you have first so you know how many holes to poke.
-
9
Place your pencils in the holes. Place your turkey pencil holder on a desk.
