Step 1
Visit the Great Pumpkin Festival at the Dallas Arboretum. This event runs through November 2. The festival includes more than 66 acres of gorgeous blooms to explore, including some of the rarest and most unique pumpkins around. Every day throughout the month of October, you can visit the pumpkin patch, hay bale maze, 8-foot pumpkin topiary, and a pumpkin house standing 15 feet tall. On the weekends, enjoy live music and family photo areas, scavenger hunts, and tasty autumn treats in the Harvest Cider House. On the 4th, there will be a pumpkin taste-off presented by local culinary students. During the weekend of the 25th and 26th, enjoy a pumpkin carving contest, trick-or-treating, face painting and a petting zoo.

Step 2
Try the Boo at the Dallas Zoo and Fort Worth Zoo during select nights. Kids are encouraged to dress in their favorite costumes and trick-or-treat. There also will be carnival games, live stage shows, and much more for the whole family. Some exhibits will be open throughout these nights as well.

Step 3
Try the Dragon’s Halloween Ball. This annual celebration includes music, art, food, and costumes. It takes place on October 25, and benefits go to the local Children’s Hospital. The event may benefit children, but it is definitely for the more mature crowd.
