Instructions

    • 1

Lay out a piece of cardboard in your gardening space. You can even cut out the cardboard to take your desired shape. The cardboard functions to kill the grass beneath it.

    • 2

Lay a 3- to 4-inch thick layer of peat moss over your cardboard. This layer will absorb water.

    • 3

Add a 5-inch layer of compost or other organic material on top of your peat moss.

    • 4

Alternate peat moss with organic material layer on top of layer until the bed is about 1 to 1½ feet high.

    • 5

Plant your seeds at the same time you build your lasagna garden bed. Follow traditional sowing methods, burying seeds within the compost material.

    • 6

      Water regularly.
