If a component of your jewelry has simply come loose, such as a jump ring, you just need to reinsert the end that has come out and re-tighten the jump ring using the following technique.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Small needle nose pliers, bent nose pliers or chain nose pliers.
  1. Step 1

Take a pair of bent nose or needle nose pliers, place one half of the jumpring in the pliers as illustrated in the picture.

  2. Step 2

Now, use another pair of pliers to work the ends of the jumpring back together or if the metal is soft like sterling silver, you can use your fingers.

  3. Step 3

Don't stretch the ends apart from each other, this will just bend the jumpring out of shape and make it harder to get the ends to close tightly. Instead twist the ends apart, so one end comes toward you and the other goes away from you. This will keep the shape of the jumpring round, and also make it easier to close it tightly.
