Things You'll Need:
- Internet
-
Step 1
Features: Don't be oversold on features that don't apply to your needs. Some features are:
Raised air bed - Primarily used for home use and great for an extra guest bed.
Memory foam - Air beds can tend to be too warm or too cold depending on the climate. Putting a blanket between you and the air bed will fix this problem. However, memory foam air beds also work great and will stay in place better. They are not thick enough to make that big of comfort difference.
Built in pump - Probably the most used and beneficial feature. It is always a pain to sit with the air bed as it is filling up. With built in pumps you can flip a switch and continue doing what your doing
Remote Control - Usually a remote is overrated. If the air bed has a built in pump the switch is just as easily reached as the remote.
2 in 1 - If you have several guests pop in then you might consider getting a 2 beds in 1 air bed. They usually be the same price as two cheaper beds but a much higher quality. -
Step 2
Look at the vinyl gauge. If an air bed is made of vinyl then make sure it is at least 20 gauge or higher. This will help prolong the life of the airbed as well as having a more comfortable air bed.
-
Step 3
Warranty - Make sure you have at least a 30 day warranty. Most air beds will show their problems during the first night. If a seem didn't get sewn properly then it will leak. Too many companies out there will sell you an air bed with no warranty at all. Don't buy from them.
-
Step 4
Companies - There are a few companies that have been around for awhile that I would feel confident referring you to.
www.AirBeds4Less.com is the largest and has live support and cheap pricing.
www.EveryAirMattress.com offers free shipping and probably the best selection.
