Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Computer
  1. Step 1

The Alt key + Tab key will switch between any of your open applications quickly. This saves you the trouble of using your mouse to click on minimized file on the Start Menu.

  2. Step 2

The Alt key + F4 key will terminate an application instantly. This is useful if you have a lot of windows open and want to remove the clutter from your screen. It is also convenient if you are at work and don't want your boss seeing you checking your personal email!

  3. Step 3

The Shift key + Delete key will delete an item from your computer permanently.

  4. Step 4

The Alt key + F key when pressed automatically opens your File menu, which is convenient when you need to open, save, or print a document. This is particularly useful with your browser, or in Microsoft Word.

  5. Step 5

The Alt key + E key when pressed automatically opens your Edit menu, which is useful when you need to edit, copy or paste information into a document.

  6. Step 6

The Ctrl key + A key highlights all text in an active field, which quickens the process of copying and pasting large amounts of material from one document to another. This saves you the trouble of highlighting and dragging the text before copying it.

  7. Step 7

In a web browser, the Ctrl key + B key will automatically bookmark the website you are currently on. This is a great shortcut for those who like to bookmark extensively.

  8. Step 8

Pressing the F5 key in your web browser will "super refresh" the web page you are on. A "super refresh" is a reload that removes the cache for that particular document. This is an essential shortcut for web designers who make quick changes and want to see the change immediately.
