Things You'll Need:
- Plastic bottle, such as a creamer or small soda bottle
- White craft paint or spray paint
- Small sponge paint brush
- 1cup kitty litter or sand
- Small funnel
- Plastic wiggle eyes
- Small black beads or black felt circles (for mouth)
- Small dowel (cut to one inch for the nose)
- 3 small pompoms (for the snowman's buttons)
- Yarn or small piece of fabric (for the scarf)
- Small twigs or dowel (for arms)
- Hot glue
- Hot glue gun
-
Step 1
Make sure you have a clean work surface and all of your supplies laid out for easy access.
-
Step 2
Remove the label off of your creamer or soda bottle, scrubbing the residue off of the container if necessary. Paint the entire bottle with white craft paint or spray paint and let dry thoroughly.
-
Step 3
Once the paint is dry, insert a funnel or rolled-up piece of paper into the opening of the bottle. Pour a cup of kitty litter or sand into the bottle. This will give the bottle some weight and hold it in place whereever you choose to display it.
-
Step 4
Mark where you want your eyes, nose and mouth to be with a pencil before gluing them on to avoid mistakes. Once the hot glue is set onto the plastic bottle, pulling them off will probably also pull of the paint and ruin the project. Glue on your wiggle eyes with hot glue.
-
Step 5
Glue your beads or felt circles on the mouth area. You could also use a piece of black jewerly wire as the mouth instead of the beads or felt.
-
Step 6
Poke holes in the bottle where you want to place the arms and the nose. Dab a small amount of hot glue on the 1-inch piece of dowel and insert it into the hole you created for the snowman's nose. Repeat this process for the arms of the snowman.
-
Step 7
Glue the pompoms down the center of the body to simulate buttons.
-
Step 8
Hot glue yarn or fabric where the scarf should be on the snowman.
