Things You'll Need:
- Six dice
- Pen or pencil
- Piece of paper to keep score on
-
Step 1
Find a few friends to play Sevens Dice with. This is a simple game that can be learned and played at an airport during a layover, for example.
-
Step 2
Choose one player to go first, and hand that player all six dice. The first player gets the opportunity to roll the dice up to three times on his or her turn. Any players going after the first player, though, can only roll the dice as many times or fewer times than the first player.
-
Step 3
Roll the dice. The first player to roll must remove any dice that combine to total seven. It is possible that the roller will have to remove several sets of dice that each total seven. The numbers on the remaining dice are used to determine the roller's score. That player can then accept the score or roll again. If the roller chooses to roll again, he or she only rolls the dice that were not removed for totaling seven. If he or she rolls any combination totaling seven again, those dice must be removed as well. This means there is a risk with taking additional rolls. The roller may then keep his or her score after two rolls, or try to roll one more time to increase his or her score.
-
Step 4
Pass the dice to the next player after the roller has determined he or she wants to keep his or her score and not roll again, or if he or she has rolled three times. Any player other than the first player is limited to the same number of rolls, or fewer, the first player took. Continue passing the dice clockwise around the table for each player to take a turn.
-
Step 5
Compare the scores of each player. The player that has the highest score wins the round. Each game can consist of one round, or if the players wish, there can be multiple rounds played. If playing multiple rounds, each player should have a turn as being the first player rolling in one round. In multiple-round games, the number of rounds should be equal to the number of players, with a different player rolling first each round.
