Things You'll Need:
- Short skirt
- Cheerleader top
- Pompoms
- Athletic shoes
- Socks
- Hair ribbons
-
Step 1
Wear a short skirt. An actual cheerleader skirt is preferable but any short skirt will do. Aim for a skirt with some pleats so you have room to move around in it. Avoid patterns and opt for solid colors instead.
-
Step 2
Find a cheerleader top. If you're going for a sexier look, choose one that is cropped short to show your belly and low-cut to showcase your cleavage. Both costume and sports stores will carry cheerleader tops. In a crunch, you can make your own at home by ironing letters onto the front of a tight T-shirt.
-
Step 3
Purchase pompoms. Your pompoms should match your skirt and top. Just like a traditional cheerleader outfit, your costume should only be two colors--your school's colors.
-
Step 4
Pair your costume with slim, athletic shoes. Cheerleaders usually wear white athletic shoes. If you don't have white shoes, any solid-colored shoes will work for this outfit.
-
Step 5
Opt for socks that match the rest of your costume. For a sexier look, choose knee-high or thigh-high socks.
-
Step 6
Put your hair in a high ponytail. Tie hair ribbons, in your costume's colors, around the ponytail.
