Frontpage is a tool that allows you to create Web pages. After you create Web pages, you can transfer them to a Web server to make them available to visitors on the Internet. In order to transfer your page to a Web server, you will need to create a username, password and know the Web server address. This guide will show you how to transfer Web pages to a Web server using Frontpage 2000.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Access your FrontPage program and open the Web page that you will be transferring to a Web server (see Resources below).

  2. Step 2

Click on the FrontPage menu bar. Choose “File” then “Publish Web.” The “Publish Web” dialog box opens. Click the area under “Specify the location to publish your Web to.” Enter the address of the Web server that you will be publishing your pages to. Choose the “Publish” button at the bottom. The “Name and password required” dialog box appears.

  3. Step 3

Type your name next to “Name.” Click on the area next to “Password” and enter your password. Your password will not be displayed. It will be replaced by "*" signs.

  4. Step 4

Click “OK” to close the dialog box. Your Web pages are copied to the Web server that you chose. When your pages have been copied successfully, a message appears that says “Website published successfully.”

  5. Step 5

Click the “Click here to view your published website” link to view the Web pages that you have published.

  6. Step 6

Click the “Done” button to close the dialog box.
