Here's how to use an electric coffee grinder. If you use a coffee grinder, your coffee will be fresher because you'll grind whole beans and release their fresh flavor every day.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • An electric coffee grinder
  • Whole coffee beans
  1. Step 1

Fill the top of the grinder half-full with coffee beans.

  2. Step 2

Place the plastic cover on top of the grinder. Plug in the machine.

  3. Step 3

The longer you run the grinder, the finer the coffee will be. You can use the noise the grinder makes to judge who fine the grind is. The grinder uses less effort as the grind becomes finer.

  4. Step 4

Depending on the amount of beans in the grinder, you'll want to run it for 5 to 10 seconds.

  5. Step 5

Run the machine for five seconds, and take the lid off. Use the coarseness of the grind to guess how many more seconds you'll grind the coffee.

  6. Step 6

If you make the coffee fine, it will be dark and slightly bitter. If you have a coarse grind, the coffee will be lighter and less caffeinated.

  7. Step 7

Modify the amount of coffee beans you put in the grinder each morning until you can measure the perfect amount of beans to grind. Otherwise, you'll always have some stale, ground coffee in your grinder.
