If you want healthy hair that shines with all it's strength then read on! These steps are simple and natural tips for healthy hair.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Shampoo
  • Conditioner
  • Brush
  • Comb
  • Barrettes/headbands (optional)
  1. Step 1

Determine a hair regimen for your hair type. They can vary enormously.
Curly hair, Wavy Hair, Straight Hair!

  2. Step 2

Wash your hair the recommended amount. Clean hair is healthy hair. Do not wash every day or you will ruin the hair's cuticles. Massage shampoo into the scalp. Do this for about 40 seconds, wash out thoroughly and then repeat once more. pour conditioner into your hand filling the palm, rub from the tips of your hair to the root covering all your hair. If you want softer silkier looking hair leave the conditioner on for 4 minutes. You can give yourself a deep conditioning treatment by sectioning the hair and covering in in conditioner. It is best to let your hair dry naturally; but if necessary use a heat protection spray which you spray on the hair while it is still wet and then blow dry, this will also protect hair from curlers/straighteners etc.

  3. Step 3

Dry hair carefully. Do not wring it with the towel- blot instead. Also do not brush your hair while it is wet- instead use a wide-toothed comb. Take your brush and brush a small chunk of the front of you.

  4. Step 4

Eat healthy foods that aid the hair in staying strong and lustrous. Your diet can also prevent hair loss.
Essential fatty acids, especially omega-3 fatty acids, play a key role in skin, hair, and nails. You should eat some of these foods, which are rich in omega-3, every day:
Salmon, tuna, mackerel, and other fatty fish
    Flaxseed oil
    Walnuts and almonds
Vitamins B-6, B-12, and folic acid are also important to your hair. Vegetarians and vegans often don't get enough of these vitamins.
Good sources of vitamin B-6 include bananas, potatoes (both white and sweet), and spinach.
Eating plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, especially citrus fruits and tomatoes, will help you get folic acid. Whole grain and fortified grain products, beans, and lentils also contain folic acid. Major sources of B-12 include meat, poultry, fish, and dairy products.
Protein is also critical for keeping hair healthy, but many people don't get enough. Lean meat like fish, chicken, eggs, and soy products are good sources of protein; eat one serving every day.
Trace minerals like magnesium and zinc also affect hair- it's a good idea to take a daily multivitamin.

  5. Step 5

Have a haircut every four to six weeks. This will remove split ends and learn how to prevent split ends.

  6. Step 6

Style your hair at most four times a week to avoid damaging it. A simple braid or an elegant one can be worn on days when you don't want to or shouldn't style your hair. It is easiest to add gel or mousse to curly hair when it is wet, instead of laboriously straightening it with a flat iron. Wavy hair can go either way and straight hair is low maintenance.

  7. Step 7

Wear hair accessories. Clips or barrettes can compliment beautiful hair. Coordinate them with your outfits or your personality.

  8. Step 8

Be Confident! On bad hair days smile and you'll be surprised how many compliments you get.

  9. Step 9

And you are finshed with GREAT hair!!

Tips & Warnings
  • Always wash your hair after you swim to get the chlorine out. Try swimming with a swim cap on.
  • Protect your hair from the sun with a large, floppy hat or hair products that contain sunscreen.
  • Sleep on a silk or satin pillowcase--cotton pillowcases make hair look dry; they suck out the moisture and can cause frizz.
  • If you have very dry hair choose a deep conditioner and apply at the ends on dry hair. Leave it in overnight and sleep on it, then make sure you fully rinse it out in the morning, but do not wash it. Your hair will be noticeably different (in a good way)!
  • Unless you have extra greasy hair its actually a BAD thing to wash your hair every single day. You are washing away your hair's own precious moisture and oil.
  • When using hairspray, make sure you wash out thoroughly as it will damage the cuticle in the hair and this is how split ends are caused.
  • Always use heat protection spray when using heat appliances on your hair. Also deep condition your hair at least once a week.
  • For hair that is naturally wavy or curly after straightening a section spray hairspray but not to close to the head and not to much this will help to hold your hair in place.
  • Don't dye, perm, or relax your hair too often! Doing this makes hair less healthy. Use a good ammonia-free hair dye with olive oil to keep it healthy and deep condition after. A good alternative to dying your hair is henna. Not only does it make your hair brown or red, but it's also really good for your hair.
