How to Join a Prayer Group
Prayer groups create an atmosphere where people can be completely honest with themselves and others and ask a higher power for what they feel they need or desire. The topic of a prayer group can be focused or specific, for example related to cancer, mental illness, domestic violence, or general family life, or it can much more broad, such as finding and understanding a higher power. A prayer group should be a comfortable place that does not judge and does not ask for money. There are many places to find prayer groups and these are some of the most common suggestions. Enjoy and find peace in a prayer group.

Call a support group that focuses on or is relative to your situation and ask about referrals to a prayer group. If they cannot refer you, you can ask that a notice be posted recruiting people for a prayer group. Search for support groups in the yellow pages, online, or by asking friends and family for referrals. If you are experiencing illness, contact the clinic or hospital from which you receive care and ask for a referral or support group information. Many hospitals and clinics keep information on hand for patients and in this information you might find a resource for prayer groups.
