How to Make a Hanging Lamp From an Old Wok Top
Why throw out that yucky old wok when you can turn it into a unique hanging lamp for your kitchen? Here’s a great way to recycle something that would otherwise end up in a landfill. Does this Spark an idea?

Turn the wok lid upside down and remove its handle.

Place the lid on a work surface and, using a hole saw, drill a 1-3/4 inch hole directly in the center.

Insert the socket of the electric light assembly into the underside of the wok--centered exactly over the hole--and tighten the ring.

Screw a globe-shaped lightbulb into the socket.

Install hooks in the ceiling, near an electrical outlet.

Hang the lamp from the hooks and plug it in.

Tips & Warnings
Paint the wok top with a high-gloss, heat-resistant paint that matches your room decor.
Make sure the wok top is completely grease-free before attaching and turning on the light bulb.
