How can I write an article on making raspberry wine without an article on making jam from the wine?

Preserve this jam or jelly in beautiful wine glasses and top with paraffin for a stunning homemade gift with heart and soul.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Wine glass sets (discount stores or clearance sales) or jelly jars
  • Paraffin
  • Pectin
  • Wine if you haven't made your raspberry wine from my other article - then buy a nice blackberry wine!
  • home made labels
  • customzied labels to match your wine bottles
  1. Step 1

Check my other article on home made raspberry wine!

Take paraffin in a saucepan and melt until clear over very very low heat.

Additionally you will need 3 qt. saucepan, wood spoon and ladle.

  2. Step 2

    Ingredients

    * 2 cups raspberry wine (or store purchased sweet berry wine)
    * 3 cups sugar
    * 1 packet liquid Pectin or 1/2 bottle (6oz) liquid pectin

  3. Step 3

Follow directions on Pectin package OR these directions will work
    In 3 qt sauce pan:
    * Stir WINE and sugar over low heat until sugar is dissolved.
    * Turn heat to high and bring mixture to rolling boil.
    * Remove from heat and add Pectin.
    * Skim off the foam
Bring to rolling boil - stirring constantly for 3 minutes.
    Remove from heat

  4. Step 4

Immediately pour or ladle Jelly into clean sterilized glasses or jelly jars to within 1/2" of tops.

Wipe tops of jars and seal with melted paraffin wax. Make wax layer about 1/8 inch thick and do not move jars until parrafin has hardened. Wax should be touching all edges of jar and be even. If there are air bubbles in wax - prick them with toothpick to make better seal.
    Store in refrigerator after opening.

*Alternative to paraffin if you are using mason jelly jars you can fill and seal with cap and ring and water bath them according to directions found in cookbooks. They will last for months and months.

  5. Step 5

At Christmas, look for elegant champagne glasses with gold trim or other unique glassware. Fill just as you do with jelly jar and cover with layer of hot wax. Make sure to refrigerate if you doubt the seal. Be creative with your labels and ribbons.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you find that it has set up really good make another batch. If it has not set well use runny jelly as an ice cream topping, try again and add more pectin and boil 1-2 minutes
  • Save money by experimenting with cheap wine first
  • Save money by buying USED jelly jars
  • Make your own custom home made labels for pzazz and give a gift from your heart!
  • Do not do this while you have toddlers pulling on aprons
  • following directions on the pectin packages is the surest way to have success.
  • Good luck and ENJOY
