How to win a defensive zone face off

Where to set up your players to get the puck out of the zone on a defensive face off.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• 3 forwards
• defense man
• goalie

1. Place your best face off man at center position.

2. Place your strongest shooter to the board side wing.

3. Place your other winger directly in front of the offensive wing closest to center ice.

4. Place your defense man between the center side winger and goalie.

5. Center wins face off by sending puck to board side winger who clears it out of the zone.

Tips & Warnings

• Practice this at every practice so that the players can line up quickly
• Wining the face off is key in the defensive zone !!!
• Practice, practice, practice.
