Things You'll Need:
- Ideas and Plans
- help from family members
-
Step 1
Plan your day in advance, if you are having only family members decide on having a very casual lunch of dinner. The time of day is important so be sure to let everyone know. Take a consensus of what type of meal, covered dish or sit down.
-
Step 2
Get family members or friends to participate in the cooking of foods. This is a fun way of learning each others traditions and acquiring favorite recopies.
-
Step 3
Serve side dishes to compliment your turkey or other meat. (some guest may not like turkey.) If you are not sure stick with traditional dishes.
-
Step 4
if your guest have children make sure to plan an activity around them. This way the adults get a chance to mingle. Have family members help in the kitchen or getting the table or tables ready for serving.
-
Step 5
Because the meal is usually a big one, don't overdue the deserts. A fruit and cheese try is nice with other more traditional deserts.
-
Step 6
Remember, Thanksgiving is a day to get together and visit. So go ahead and do so. There is nothing better than family.

on 11/11/2008 Planning seem essential. We always make enough for a whole week. Leftovers are the turkey's gobble! Good article.

on 11/3/2008 Yes, when everyone contributes, it makes for a stree-free (practically) Thanksgiving Day.
