How to Plan a Sweet Sixteen Party on a Budget

It's finally here. That special day that you've been looking forward to your whole life. Your sweet 16. You want to have a party however you just found out that your parents don't have enough money to throw a lavish party like you wanted. Now what to do? I will show you how to have a sweet 16 on a budget!

1. PLAN YOUR BUDGET. You need to know what your working with so sit down and decide how much money that you are willing to put towards your Sweet Sixteen.
2. DECIDE WHAT YOU DON'T NEED. I know many of you want to have a lavish party with celebrities performing and strobe lights going like you see on My Super Sweet Sixteen. However that's just not going to happen. So you need to sit down and decide what you absolutly can't live without at your party.. and what is perhaps not so important.
3. BARGIN HUNT. I know that this may sound tacky but find the things you need from resale stores, discount sites such as ebay, and other places that my be cheap. Don't go for the most expensive dress, shop around and find one that is less pricy. Is is always smart to go dress shopping after prom because everything is marked down a lot. Make sure that you find everything you love for as cheap as possible.
4. KEEP THE GUEST LIST SIMPLE. Don't invite everybody at school just so you can have a "Big Party". Only invite the people that you are friends with, or even only the people that you have spoken too. If you go around handing out invitations to everyone and anyone your price is going to go up dramatically and people are going to think your kinda desperate.
5. DECORATE YOURSELF. Put a little work into it and save a lot of money. If you decorate yourself you can make the room exactly how you pictured it and you can even personalize it. You can even invite a few friends over and make an evening out of it having fun and decorating your own party
6. BAKE YOUR OWN CAKE. Just go get a boxed cake and bake a large sheet of it. You can buy cake decorating kits for cheap and if you follow the instructions they are easy to use and they come out beautifully. This will save you a considerable amount of money and still be a tasty treat!
7. HAVE FUN! Nothing is worse than drama at a party. After you do all the work to make your party fabolous and cheap, brush all the dirt off your shoulders and have a carefree evening! Enjoy!
