Making your kitchen green and eco friendly can be easy. Follow my tips for a non toxic kitchen.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Green your dishes. Stop using paper plates and paper napkins. Switch to using regular dishes and cloth napkins.

  2. Step 2

Wash dishes in your dishwasher. It uses less water to wash dishes in the dishwasher instead of by hand.

  3. Step 3

Switch to non toxic cookware. Pyrex glass and cast iron cookware are safer than teflon coated or aluminum cookware. You can usually find vintage pyrex and cast iron at garage sales and thrift stores. A bonus is that they are affordable.

  4. Step 4

Get rid of the hazardous chemicals. Petroleum based dishsoap, cleaning supplies and more are bad for the environment and your health. Try cleaning with baking soda and vinegar. There are several companies that make great cleaning products that work just as good as their toxic counterparts. Seventh Generation is a personal favorite.

  5. Step 5

Recycle! Try to reduce the amount of garbage you create. Get recycling bins and teach your family to recycle instead of putting everything right into the trash can.
