How to Clean an LCD Screen

An easy way to clean LCD screens of fingerprints and smudges.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    In a small container, mix 1 part of rubbing alcohol and 1 part water.

  2. Step 2

    Dunk the cloth into the solution, and then with the screen turned off, rub the screen with the wet cloth with soft up and down strokes. Don't use pressure, just keep going over very dirty spots.

  3. Step 3

    There should be no streaks and no reside left on the screen once you're done. If the screen in still dirty, use some pure rubbing alcohol, and then use the original mixture again to get rid of streaks.

Tips & Warnings
  • Microfiber cloths work very well for this.
  • Never use things like Windex on an LCD, it will cause it to yellow.
