You've likely seen the informercial for the Ice Cream Ball. Here's how to use the Ice Cream Ball to make homemade ice cream.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Ice
  • Rock salt
  • Cream
  • Sugar
  • Vanilla (and/or other ingredients like coffee, strawberries, or chocolate syrup.
  1. Step 1

    Fill the ice opening of the ball with as many ice cubes or crushed ice as you can.

  2. Step 2

    Put a half cup of rock salt in with the ice and screw the lid shut.

  3. Step 3

    In mixing bowl, stir a pint of half and half or whole cream with a little over a third of a cup of sugar. Adjust the sugar to your taste.

    For vanilla ice cream, add one and one/half teaspoons of vanilla extract. For other flavors, experiment with just about any fruit, syrup, or crushed cookies you can imagine.

  4. Step 4

    Mix the ingredients until they are well stirred.

  5. Step 5

    Pour the liquid ice cream mixture into the metal cylinder of the ball.

  6. Step 6

    Screw the lid back on by hand.

  7. Step 7

    Shake, roll, and use the ball for about ten minutes. If the ice cream hasn't set, stir it with a plastic utensil, and then shake it for ten more minutes.

  8. Step 8

    You'll have a pint or more of ice cream after the ice cream has set.
