Planning a little trip out of your residency or regular place of work. Want to keep up with email and progress but don't want to be paying exorbitant access fees for wifi signals? Here's the best way to locate free wifi hotspots, anywhere in the world.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A computer with internet access before you leave.
  • A computer with internet access when you arrive.
  1. Step 1

Before you leave your regular internet access, open a browser window and type in the following url: www.waymarking.com

  2. Step 2

Insert the location where you are heading. Locations can be as specific as a hotel address, or more general such as an airports region.

  3. Step 3

Results will be returned accompanied by a general map showing proximity and direction away from your selected address. Options that may also be shown include a photograph of the area, nearby amenities, and the physical location of the wifi spot.

  4. Step 4

Bookmark the location for future reference.

Tips & Warnings
  • Some locations that offer free wi-fi may only operate during listed hours.
  • Free wi-fi locations may require that you contact a representative of the location for a password or log in name.
  • A location listed as offering free wi-fi may not always be true. Check the most recent visitor to the location to validate free wi-fi prior to arrival. Phone numbers to some location may be listed for you to check yourself.
  • If free wi-fi is no longer available, as a courtesy, make a record in the listing for review.
