Have you ever used your Apple Computer and wondered how you could change your Finder application preferences? Perhaps you wish to turn off that ever-so-annoying "Are you sure you wish to Empty your Trash" warning you get every time you ask it to be emptied. Or you wish to change a Label name from Red to Priority or Proof. Maybe you would just like to see the file extension on any file you handle on your OS. By changing Apple Computer's Finder application preferences, you can set up your Mac's Finder app to be all that you want it to be and more.

The second Finder preference tab is marked Labels. While you can not change the color-coding on these labels, you can change what wording shows up in the boxes to the side of each color bar. Changing the actually color wording to something more work-related like proof or priority can help you through your workflow.

  4. Step 4

The third Finder preference tab is marked Sidebar. This is where you can select which devices and folders should appear in your Finder's sidebar tab.

The fourth Finder preference tab is marked Advanced. This is the tab you look to when you wish to have all your files show their extensions or if you wish to turn off your Trash warning whenever you empty your trash.
