Extend your iPod's battery life and your workout.

An iPod with a dead battery does you zero good. This little music player uses a lot of battery juice, however. Increase your iPod's battery life to keep the tunes rolling when taking that long trip to grandma's house.

Instructions

    • 1

Always keep your iPod updated with the latest software. Sometimes Apple includes battery patches in its software updates to help increase your iPod's battery life.

    • 2

Switch the iPod to "Hold" whenever you are not using the iPod. Doing this prevents songs or videos playing when you are not using your iPod. Pause your songs or videos as well if you need to do something else for a second.

    • 3

Try and keep your iPod at room temperature. Extreme temperature changes will decrease the life of your iPod battery.

    • 4

Give your iPod's battery a complete charge. If your iPod battery dies, make sure that you charge it completely before using it again. A good cycle of charging will keep your battery life good.

Turn down the backlight setting if you do not need it. You can do this by going to "Settings," "Backlight Timer" and click "Off."
