It's easy to caulk a bathtub and cover that old, dingy, peeling silicone caulk.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • High grade, white, waterproof silicone caulk.
  1. Step 1

First, get rid of old caulk that is peeling by pulling it off. Don't bother removing any of the old caulk that's not already peeling, because your new caulk is going right over the top of the old caulk.

  2. Step 2

Working in one direction, squeeze a bead of caulk around the length of the tub, covering all the old caulk.

  3. Step 3

Use a grout corner tool to smooth the caulk bead over the joint.

  4. Step 4

Don't over caulk. The bead should be just big enough to cover the old caulk, not excessively thick.

  5. Step 5

Clean up excess caulk with a wet paper towel before it dries.
