Step 1
Avoid "textbook exchanges" at your college bookstore at all costs. These book buying events severely undervalue the price of your books, even if they pay you instant cash.
-
Step 2
For more money, wait until the start of the next semester to sell them.
-
Step 3
Make a flier to sell your books to other students at your school. Type out the names of the books you want to sell, and the names of the courses they are used in. Put a price next to each book, and list your e-mail address on the sheet. Hang it on bulletin boards around the school at the start of the semester.
-
Step 4
If you can't sell all your books this way, sell them online.
-
Step 5
Get a Half.com or an eBay account and auction or sell your books. This method is time consuming, but results in more money than you would receive at a book buyback.
-
Step 6
If you do decide to sell your books to a book buyback service, act carefully. If they offer you way too little for the book, don't sell it back to them. You can choose which books they buy back and keep the rest and sell them elsewhere. Don't be pressured into underselling all your books back for as low as $1 dollar each.
