We find some pricey organizers in departments stores but not only are they more than we want to spend but there are more areas found than what we actually require. Why carry a large bulky organizer, when we can create one especially tailored to meet our needs?

Purchase your small notebook from an office supply store or dollar store. One with pockets in the front and back will do nicely. Purchase your notebook paper, calculator, and tabs to mark your sections. You may be able to pick up a calendar at Dollar General, Family Dollar, or another discount store, or print one up online at www.PrintableCalendar.ca If you can't find a notebook, one can be created and personalized easy enough.

Assemble the items that are going to make up your organizer and decide which categories you will require:
      Telephone numbers
      Errands/Appointments
      Contacts
      Projects
      Expenses
      Lists
      to suggest a few

Place your calendar in the errands section. Add enough paper to each section, and place tabs with the name of the appropriate area on each.

Tips & Warnings

  • Save your calendar for things you need reminded of, not every day things.

  • Save details of tasks such as the individual you talked to, tel no. part no.

  • In your lists add books you want to read, recommended places to eat, or movies you'd like to see.

  • Use your calendar to plan your errands so you don't get a sneak attack on your week end.

  • Don't forget to set an appointment for family fun

  • Writing down your plans help you to keep them

  • Crossing off finished tasks will make you feel like you have accomplished something.

  • Don't be in a hurry to throw away telephone nos. and contact names. What if the part you ordered did not work and you need to return or trouble shoot?
