Recovering from a good workout is easy. You don't have to do a thing. But, not being sore the day or two days after a good workout is hard. These are steps to take to avoid this pain.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Protein shake.
  • Food.
  1. Step 1

Within thirty minutes of your workout, drink a protein shake. About thirty minutes before is ideal to let the it settle and start getting into your system. The protein will give you more energy and you won't get tired as fast. It also helps in the muscle building and rebuilding process.

  2. Step 2

Drink another protein shake within thirty minutes after your workout. Again, this will help with the muscle building and rebuilding process. Ideally, to gain muscle mass, the body needs to intake about one gram of protein per pound of body weight, so having this much so close to a workout is going to be beneficial.

  3. Step 3

Eat at least a small meal within two hours after your workout. This is where carbohydrates work for your benefit. Eating while your muscle fibers are fresh in the process of breaking down helps the healing process. Also, the calories will give you something to feed your growing muscles.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always use caution when doing any exercise or workout.
  • Make sure that the protein you are taking is safe for you; check ingredients.
