Step 1
Look for My Little Pony at yard sales and thrift stores. Be sure to make sure it is an authentic My Little Pony. The Hasbro brand name will be stamped on the bottom.
-
Step 2
Check the pony over carefully. Most ponies will have been played with and there may be some kind of damage. Patches of flocking on SS (so soft) ponies, haircuts, pen and marker marks, and missing glitter are all things to look and consider when purchasing.
-
Step 3
The early ponies called generation 1 or G1 made in the 80's are more sought after than the later generation 2 (G2) 90's ponies and G3 current market ponies. Look for the date on the pony to see when it was manufactured.
-
Step 4
Clean the My Little Pony. Soft water and a mild soap work well on the body. For ground in stains try non-acetone nail polish remover. Gently wipe the body with the remover using a soft white cloth. Do not use the remover on sparkles. Wash the My Little Ponies hair with a gentle shampoo and lightly condition. Dry carefully to avoid frizzies.

Step 5
Look your pony up (see resource below) on the internet. These step by step My Little Pony identification guides will help you determine exactly what My Little Pony you have.
-
Step 6
Once you have identified your My Little Pony, look it up on ebay to see the going rate. Check completed auctions also. If you do not see your pony on ebay, list it accurately with the full name in the auction title. Collectors will find it and your auction should reach a realistic value for the pony.
-
Step 7
Take clear pictures and accurately describe your My Little Pony when you list it on Ebay. Listing ponies individually will usually result in a higher return than listing them in a group. With clear identification and great pictures your My Little Pony should sell for it's true value.
