Things You'll Need:
- Acorns
- Bark
- Leaves
- Stones
-
Step 1
Fairy House under OleanderFind a location in your garden, in a shaded corner or under the canopy of a tree for example, for your fairy house. Make sure there is shade for the house for most of the day.
-
Step 2
Fairy HouseBuild your house by using the tree trunk for stability. You can put forked twigs vertically into the ground at each corner and lay a horizontal twig into the fork across them so that it will hold a roof made of bark or you can make the whole house of bark. You can also use lots of twigs and place them closely together to form the walls.
-
Step 3
Fairy HouseYou can also build a house by turning a broken planter pot upside down, like the one shown in the picture. Place moss over all of it and some tree bark on the top as the roof. Add twigs and fallen leaves and blossoms from plants. I added a few butterflies that I bought from the store.
-
Step 4
Fairy HouseBegin decorating the inside of the house with a large rock for a table and acorns for chairs. Add fern and moss for a bed. Use little pebbles to make a path and pine cones at the entrance to the path. Put on your roof made of moss or bark and then add a few miniature items outside. If you do not have any moss, you can purchase some from a craft store. There is no wrong or right way to do it, just use your imagination and think of other ways you can use found objects.
-
Step 5
BerriesLeave fairy food, such as berries and check back often. Tradition says, when the food is gone, the fairies have found the house.
