Don't we get tired of the same boring emoticons Windows provided to us? (I am :))

Well, using just few easy steps you will be able to use any cute animated emoticon from the Internet in your messenger.

You have to save an emoticon on your hard drive first.

As an example let's create an emoticon called Hello. You can get it from this website: http://www.animated-gifs.eu/leisure-percussion-instruments/001.htm.

From this website I have chosen an emoticon for you that will show "Hello" in the Messenger while chatting..

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet
  • Windows Live Messenger installed
  • Any search engine available - Google, Yahoo etc.
  1. Step 1

To save an emoticon on your hard drive RIGHT mouse click on the icon to get a pulldown menu.

  2. Step 2

Click on "Save image as" and it will take you to the folder My Pictures to save this image.

  3. Step 3

Type in Hello in the file name to save with and click on Save.

  4. Step 4

Open Messenger ... click on Tools Emoticons

  5. Step 5

Click on "Create" button ... then click on "Find image" button - - it will take you (most likely) to your My Pictures folder.

  6. Step 6

Locate the image you just saved and click "Open".

  7. Step 7

In #2 paragraph (see the image) type a word "Hello" and click OK

  8. Step 8

    Click OK again

  9. Step 9

Next time you chat with somebody and type "hello" this cute girl will be waving her hand.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not add very small emotions as they come out even smaller on the Messenger and nobody will see it
  • You only have to remember How you saved an icon (in #7 step) - with capital H or small h, and use accordingly.

on 9/13/2008 Thanks vlady0512. I have so much fun creating the new emoticons, and of course my chat dear friends steal them. LOL But I don't mind because I love people I chat with. :)
