How to Make a Cardboard Christmas Mobile Craft
Christmas is a beautiful time of year and perhaps the most anticipated holiday. It is a time for family, caroling, gift giving and craft making. A really great craft to make is a cardboard Christmas mobile. Mobiles are fun because you can put whatever symbols you enjoy on the end of the strings.

1
Cut out a circle from a cardboard box or use a cardboard circle from a pizza. To cut out a perfect circle you need a large bowl and a pencil. Just flip the bowl upside down over the cardboard and trace, then cut it out with your scissors.
-
2
Paint your cardboard circle. A gold or silver color looks really sharp, but you can always go with the standard red or green. Make sure you paint both sides of the circle. It may even take two coats.

3
Cut four holes in the cardboard, one in each corner of the circle. You can use a knife, hole puncher, or screwdriver to make the holes.
-
4
Thread a string through each of the four holes. Bring all four strands upward and tie them in to a knot where they come together. This is the part that will slide on to the hook in the ceiling when you are finished.
-
5
Make six to eight more holes at various spots around the cardboard circle.
-
6
Thread some string through each of the holes and tie in to a knot. You will probably need to tape the knots so that they don't ever fall through the holes. You can use a hot glue gun to do this as well.
-
7
Let the strings drape down and then cut them to different lengths.
-
8
Attach ornaments to the ends of each of the six to eight pieces of string. You can do this by tying the string to the hook or loop in the ornament. You can use balls, crosses, candy canes or any homemade ornaments you might have.
-
9
Attach the top knot to the hook on your ceiling and enjoy.

Tips & Warnings
You can use fishing line instead of string. It is better because it is clear.
Ask an adult for help when using the scissors, knife, hole puncher, or screw driver.
