How to Remove Sweat Stains With Aspirin

Sweat stains are the pits. If you buy your white shirts in 10-packs you may not consider the soiled shirt to be much of a loss and just toss yellow stained Ts in the garbage. But even the price of inexpensive T-shirts and collared shirts can add up if you sweat a lot in them. You can get the stains out and keep your money without losing your shirt in the process, with this quick and effective home remedy.

    Things You'll Need

    • Three aspirin
    • Water
      • 1

Place three aspirin tablets into a plastic baggie and seal.

      • 2

Crush the tablets by lightly tapping the bagged aspirin with a hammer or the rounded handle end of a knife.

      • 3

Dump the crushed aspirin into a shallow bowl.

      • 4

Pour two tablespoons of warm water into the bowl and stir to dissolve. The mixture should make a paste.

      • 5

Spread the paste onto the sweat stain of your shirt and allow to sit for an hour. The salicylic acid, aspirin’s main ingredient, will seep deep into the fabric of the shirt to lift the stain.

      • 6

        Wash as usual.

    Tips & Warnings

    • For tougher stains, repeat the process and add an extra aspirin.
