Big Ball

Volleyball is a popular sport for both men and women. It can be played professionally or just for fun. Volleyball can also be played on several different types of courts, the most famous one being the beach. When playing on the beach it is fun to use a big ball. This big ball is also called a beach ball. This ball is light and waterproof; if it ends up in the ocean it will float and not get water logged.

Instructions

    • 1

Gather 2 volleyball teams of 6 players each.

    • 2

Find a beach that has a volleyball net and grab the biggest beach ball you can find.

    • 3

Toss a coin to see which team will go first.

    • 4

Position the teams with 3 players in the front by the net and 3 players in the back.

    • 5

Use only your hands. Volleyball only allows players to use their hands cupped or their wrists to hit the ball over the net. If any other part of the body is used the ball returns to the opposing team.

    • 6

Serve the ball. The player in the back right hand corner is the server. The server will start the game off by hitting the ball across the net to the other team.

    • 7

Hit the ball back and forth between teams. Points are scored when the serving team successfully hits a ball over the net and the opposite team fails to get the ball back over the net. No point is scored if the server hits the ball out of bounds. If this happens the other team gets to serve.

    • 8

Score 25 points and you win the match. Remember you can only score points when you are serving.

    • 9

Play 3 matches. Whichever team wins 2 of the 3 matches wins.

Tips & Warnings

  • Using a big beach volleyball minimizes injuries.

  • Make sure the area around the volleyball court is free of little kids. You don't want to accidentally hit them or fly backwards trying to get the ball and knock them over.
