A dog that barks constantly can get to be very annoying rather quickly to you and others. Here are some tips you might follow to help you get in control of your dogs barking.

    A great way to teach your dog to stop barking is through a command that once spoken your dog will know to be quiet. There are many words you might use like "Quiet" or "Enough." Pick one that works for you.

    Provide plenty of exercise and attention for your dog. This helps your dog release any pent-up energy that could lead to behavioral problems such as barking.

  3. Step 3

    Encourage your dog to stop barking with treats. If your dog is barking and suddenly stops, offer a treat to reward him for his silence. Your dog should catch on that once he stops barking he will get a treat. You can use this method hand in hand with the command for teaching your dog to refrain from barking. Once your dog obeys on command you can slowly cut back on the treats.

    There are also many useful tools on the market today like bark and shock collars. These collars can be very useful, if used properly, but can also make the situation much worse.
