How to Find Guest Bloggers
Whether you operate a small blog with a few hundred monthly visitors or a large blog with a few thousands visitors, guest bloggers can help increase traffic, provide quality content, decrease the amount of work you put into your blog and even end your writer’s block. The key to obtaining guest bloggers is not in the traffic but in the asking.

1
Write a “become a guest blogger” page. This is where you tell your potential guest bloggers why they should share their expertise with your readers—for free. Explain that guest posts are win-win situations because they give your readers valuable information while providing the guest blogger with a little free publicity. State who your readers are, what your monthly visitors are, what you are looking for in a guest post, how soon guest bloggers can expect to see their posts live and how you want to receive the guest posts: through a contact form, in the body of an email or as an attachment.

2
Write a “get interviewed” page. This is a great, no-hassle way to feature guest bloggers. You provide a standardized set of questions—which can be changed weekly, monthly or yearly—and the bloggers answer them. You then polish up the answers, format the interview and post it online. The bloggers don’t have to “think” about what to write because you’ve given them something to write about, and they don’t have to worry about coming across as one huge sales pitch.

3
Announce your needs in a social networking forum. If you socialize on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter or numerous other social networking platforms, you have a ready-made audience at your fingertips. All you have to do is announce that you’re seeking guest bloggers on a specific topic, then link to your guest blogger page.
-
4
Announce your needs in an online forum or publicity group. Don’t just join groups or forums for the sole purpose of requesting guest bloggers because that could be considered spam. Drop in on conversations, leave comments that answer the poster’s question and then ask for guest bloggers in your tagline. You can also check the policy of the forum or group to see if you can start a topic on “seeking guest bloggers.”
-
5
Make a private request of a blogger you follow. If you follow bloggers in your industry and they’ve recently touched base on something you’re very passionate about, drop the blogger a private email requesting that he become a guest blogger on your blog to further discuss that topic.
-
6
Do a search online to actively seek guest bloggers. If you have a particular idea in mind, do a search for that topic in the search engines, and when you run across a company or blogger who fits the bill, send an email. State who you are, why your blog would be a good match and what you’re seeking.
