Instructions

  1. TV Remotes

    • 1

Almost all classrooms have their own TV these days. If you're especially lucky, it will be mounted in an upper corner with its plug firmly secured and locked into the wall. Even if it doesn't, this technique will be sure to annoy your teacher and peers. All you will need is a universal TV remote. You can find some of these small enough to fit on your keychain (see Resources below).

    • 2

After getting your TV remote learn how to program it for the sets in your classrooms. Your remote will come with a guide explaining how to prepare the remote for each brand of TV. Memorize how to program your remote for each brand of TV you will encounter.

    • 3

While in class you can now discreetly turn the TV on and off, adjust the volume and change the channel. Be creative with how you use this power. If you want to annoy your classmates, turning the TV on while the teacher speaks probably won't be very effective. Instead, slowly reduce the volume while watching a movie or important video in class. Turning the volume to unreasonable levels can also get an interesting reaction.

    • 4

Don't be shy--try using your remote from the hallway on other classrooms. Ask for a bathroom break and walk through the halls turning on every TV in the building. Teachers will most likely suspect their own students.

    Laser Pointers

    • 5

Laser pointers are another great classroom disruption. You can find for low prices in many gag, pet and office stores. Gag stores may have the bonus of including a special lens that can turn your laser light into unique images (see Resources below).

    • 6

Shine the laser on the teacher's back while your teacher writes on the board. This will usually cause your classroom to erupt in laughter. But be warned, your teacher and classmates will turn around and scan the classroom for the perpetrator. Because of this, you should only shine the laser for very short periods.

    • 7

Your teacher will quickly get annoyed with the class laughing for an unknown reason. It will take longer for the laser to get on your classmates' nerves, as they'll find it humorous for the first few minutes.

    • 8

Shine the laser pointer near their hand on the blackboard while they're writing. Continue to shine the laser within their eyesight. They will find it very hard to continue working and turn around each time you shine the laser.

    Cellphones

    • 9

Cellphones can be an amazing tool of annoyance in the classroom. To avoid getting in trouble, you're going to target other students instead of yourself. This will only work if you have a large number of your classmates' phone numbers. Sometimes teachers will hand out lists with your peers' phone numbers--take advantage of these situations and add everyone to your contact list!

    • 10

Begin calling everyone in your classroom one by one. A lot of people will have their phones on silent, but the noise of the phone vibrating is usually audible as well. But don't worry, plenty of people forget to silence their phones. Your classroom will quickly erupt into a symphony of jingles, rings and MP3s. This technique will surely annoy the classmates you choose to call along with your teacher.

    • 11

This technique can be especially effective during exams. Your classmates will get even more frustrated when their concentration is constantly broken.

Tips & Warnings

  • Almost any tool that can be triggered remotely can serve an annoying purpose in the classroom.

  • Most phones have some way to hide your number from the recipients of your calls. It may be a good idea to use this function.

  • Carry on for too long and you're likely to be caught.

  • NEVER shine a laser pointer in someone's eyes.
