      Look for a bag full of mostly dark, purplish cherries, filled in with a few bright red ones. The darker the cherries, the sweeter they will taste.

      Pick up the bag with the best color. Look through the clear plastic at the cherries inside, searching for mold or rotten parts.

      Buy the bag if the cherries look plump and firm. Squishy cherries are usually somewhat flavorless.
