Step 1
Bring a hat, bottled water, sunscreen and a camera, and wear comfortable clothing. Arrange for a hotel pickup at no extra charge if you’re staying in Sedona overnight. See Resources for the link to the Pink Jeep website.
-
Step 2
Book a seat on the Broken Arrow tour, a half-day off-road ride into the red rock country of Sedona. You’ll see views of Chicken Point and Submarine Rock and finish with a dizzying descent down the “Road of No Return.” The 2-hour tour is $75 for adults, with a reduced fare for children under 12.
-
Step 3
Check out the Ancient Ruin tour, where you'll spend 2 1/2 to 3 hours exploring cliff dwellings and other archaeological sites. The tour is $72 for adults. Venture further and book a seat on the Grand Canyon tour, which takes visitors into the canyon and stops for lunch along the way, visiting nearby Oak Creek.
-
Step 4
Customize a hiking trip by consulting with the guide before making a reservation. The tour company can take you into the red rock country for a 2- to 4-hour hiking excursion.
-
Step 5
Leave infants and pregnant women at home. Some portions of the terrain can be bouncy and rugged. Plan to meet some new friends. Each jeep holds up to nine passengers, so chances are you’ll be touring with someone you haven’t met before.
