Thanksgiving is a holiday as much about celebrating delicious food as it is about celebrating American history and what we are thankful for. If you are hosting this year’s event, consider creating an edible Thanksgiving centerpiece that will impress and feed your dinner guests.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Fresh produce
  • 8-inch round piece of foam
  • Toothpicks
  • Skewers
  • Hot glue gun
  • Turkey-shaped cookies (optional)
  1. Step 1

Gather seasonal fruits and vegetables. Grapes, beets, carrots and others work great for a centerpiece.

  2. Step 2

Wash and dry all of your food materials.

  3. Step 3

Set your piece of foam on a table.

  4. Step 4

Poke a toothpick halfway into the piece of foam. For taller pieces of your centerpiece that you can add even more produce to, use full-sized skewers. After you have placed a toothpick or skewer in your desired location, apply a ring of hot glue around the base of the skewer on top of your foam to keep the skewer from slipping out of place when you attach the produce.

  5. Step 5

Place a piece of fruit or a vegetable on the exposed end of the toothpick.

  6. Step 6

Continue adding produce until you have completely covered the foam with fresh fruits and vegetables.

  7. Step 7

Layer produce items on top of one another to make your centerpiece look plentiful and appetizing.

Tips & Warnings
  • For extra decoration, add a few turkey-shaped cookies to the center of your bouquet.
