How to Clean a Crystal Decanter
Stubborn stains can be tough to remove from delicate crystal decanters. Scrubbing is out of the question as it can scratch the surface of the decanter and harsh chemical cleaners can damage your crystal treasure. Denture tablets are gentle, non-abrasive cleaners that are more than capable of lifting stains from your decanter and other crystal items. Fill the crystal decanter with hot water, up to about 6 inches from the top.

Drop the denture tablets into the decanter and swirl the water around while they fizz. Allow the decanter to soak for at least six hours, swirling the water around periodically to distribute the cleaning formula.

Gently scrub the inside of the decanter with the bottle brush, focusing on any stains that remain on the crystal.

Empty out the decanter, rinse it with warm water and allow it to air dry. If any stains remain, repeat the procedure.

Tips & Warnings
If a stain is stubborn or looks cloudy, it may be a scratch on the surface of the glass. The denture tablets won't remove scratches.
Always be gentle when cleaning crystal and be careful not to mix the tablets with other household or dish cleaners.
Don't use flavored denture tablets, unless you want your decanter to pick up the flavor.
This method will not remove lime deposits from crystal.
