Tuck jumps are an easy exercise that help an athlete gain flexibility and lower leg strength. Because you need only your own body to complete them, they can be done anywhere in the smallest of spaces. You will notice steady improvement in your speed, acceleration and leaping ability after a few short weeks.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Stand in an athletic position with your feet shoulder width apart.

  2. Step 2

Leap straight up in the air as high as you can, tucking your knees into your chest and pulling your feet into your butt.

  3. Step 3

Spring off the ground the instant you land on both feet, propelling yourself back into the position held at the end of Step 2.

  4. Step 4

Repeat Steps 2 and 3 for the desired number of repetitions.

Tips & Warnings
  • Set repetition goals, increasing your standard as your body increases in strength.
  • Proper athletic clothing and shoes are important when practicing this or other exercises to prevent injury.
