  1. Step 1

Walking tours are an excellent way for your children to get exercises and to learn. Boston by Little Feet organizes tours especially made for young children. They last for about an hour and are best suited for children ages 6 through 12.

  2. Step 2

Splash into the Charles River and see live reenactments of the city's maritime history with Boston by Sea. The tour covers the whole harbor and is highly recomended for both adults and children.

  3. Step 3

Explore the freedom trail. Young children can follow the red line on the sidewalk that takes them to various historical sites. The trail is 2.5 miles long and may prove too much for very young children. However, it is designed to stop and start whenever you please.

  4. Step 4

Visit the Boston Children's Museum for a fun day out. This site is packed full of interactive exhibits to involve the kids in education. You can easily spend an entire day there and the children will not want to leave.

  5. Step 5

Go to the New England Aquarium and Animal Rescue Center. Children will be treated to several aquatic treasures as well as seeing how injured marine animal are nursed back to health.
