How to Play Nintendo Wii's "Trauma Center: Second Opinion"
Many people grow up wishing to be a doctor, and while such dreams may change or fade away as time goes on, you can relive them in Nintendo Wii’s Trauma Center: Second Opinion. The surgeon’s tools are actually in your hands during this interactive game, in which you can cut, dissect, and perform other operations that are all under your control.
Instructions

Pre-Operation
-
1
Load the game into your Wii and press the "Start" button using your remote control. The game requires the use of the Wii Remote and the Nunchuk expansion, so make sure that it is already plugged in.
-
2
Hold the Wii remote in your strong hand and the Nunchuk in your weak hand. This will make the game a lot easier to play, because the Wii remote is used for most of the hands-on work.
-
-
3
Start the first level of the game by selecting A-1 in the main menu. Use your Wii remote to point at the level and press the A button. This game is more than just a puzzle game in which you take on the role of surgeon. You are actually involved in a lengthy storyline with multiple characters and patients throughout the hospital.
-
4
Read through and listen to the dialogue of each scene. Press the A button to skip over passages once you have read them and keep tapping the A button to skip over them completely. The storylines are not needed to complete the assignments, but they do add more content to the game.
-
5
Go over the Operation Briefing. Here, you will be given key instructions as to what to prepare for during the upcoming operation. Press A after you are given each instruction and look at the chart for the patient to learn about key vitals.
Starting Operations
-
6
Press A to start the operation. There are many things around the screen that you need to learn and focus on to be successful. The top right-hand corner shows the time limit during the level. Early levels will be a breeze, but later levels will become challenging to defeat against the clock.
-
7
Look at the rest of the screen. The top left shows your patient’s health meter and the bottom left shows all of your surgical tools.
-
8
Select different surgical tools using the Nunchuk. Because many of the operations have you pressed for time, you will want to learn how to use the Nunchuk to quickly select tools. Each direction represents a different tool. One tool you will be using the most is the Antibiotic Gel. Press Up on the Nunchuck to select this tool. The other key tools you will be using are the Syringe, Stitches, Drain, Surgical Laser, Bandages, Defibrillator, Light, Ultrasound, Magnification Scanner, Scalpel and Forceps.
-
9
Press the Nunchuk to select the scalpel. Follow the dotted incision line as closely as possible. Keep your hand steady while cutting open your patient. This will keep your patient’s health high and allow you to get a better score.
-
10
Use a lot of Antibiotic Gel if your patient’s health is falling. Select the gel by pressing the Up direction on your Wii Nunchuk. This gel will help raise the patient's health, but keep track of the time and do not rely on it too often.
-
11
Hold the A and B button together to grab onto objects. You will use this to remove bone particles, shards of glass and tumors, and to pick up objects like bandages.
-
12
Hold Z and B together to perform the Healing Touch. Once the two buttons are held together, draw a star with your Wii remote. This step will bring you into the Healing Touch mode, which slows everything down so you can perform operations easier. This tool can only be used once per operation, though.

Tips & Warnings
Replay early procedures to improve your game. The faster you become at selecting different tools and doing simple things like making stitches, the easier the game will become. You will be able to pass through advanced operations without performing them multiple times.
