How to Make a Light Bulb Pumpkin Ornament
Welcome in Halloween with a tree filled with light bulb pumpkin ornaments. Scan your yard for the perfect tree branch. Look for a branch with lots of little arms and twigs to serve as hangers for all your pumpkin ornaments. Spray paint it black and plant it in a coffee can of plaster of paris. Paint the can however you would like and you will have a spooky addition to your Halloween decor. Things You'll Need
- Standard-size light bulb
- 2 small silk leaves
- Raffia
- Floral wire
- Brown acrylic paint
- Orange acrylic paint
- Green acrylic paint
- Permanent black marker
- Paint brush
- Sea sponge
- Baby food jar
- Hot glue gun
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Vinegar
- Cotton ball
- Wire cutters

Clean the entire light bulb, including the screw end, with vinegar applied with a cotton ball.

Sponge paint the top half of the light bulb with the brown acrylic paint using the sea sponge. Set the light bulb bottom on a baby food jar to dry.

Sponge paint the bottom half of the light bulb with the brown acrylic paint using the sea sponge. Set the screw end of the light bulb into the baby food jar to dry.

Repeat step 2 using the orange acrylic paint.

Repeat step 3 using the orange acrylic paint.

Paint the metal screw top of the light bulb green for the pumpkin stem. Set the bottom of the light bulb on the baby food jar to dry. Repeat with a second coat of the green paint if needed.

Draw a 1/4-inch triangle pumpkin nose with the bottom edge 1 1/2-inches from the bottom of the metal screw end using the black permanent marker. Fill in the nose with the marker.

Draw two 1/4-inches triangle pumpkin eyes spaced 1/4-inches apart and even with the nose tip using the black permanent marker. Fill in the triangles with the marker.

Draw a simple mouth on the light bulb pumpkin using the black permanent marker.

Draw stitch lines for the pumpkin spine using the black permanent marker. Start straight down from the bottom of the screw top, through the nose to the bottom of the light bulb. Continue around to the back of the bulb and back up to the bottom of the screw top.

Space two more stitched spines on each side of the light bulb pumpkin ornament, intersecting on the bottom of the bulb.

Cut a 12 inches length of floral wire for the light bulb pumpkin ornament hanger. Wrap the middle of the wire around the screw end and twist to secure. Bring the ends of the wire together and twist a 1/2-inch from the end. Wrap this 1/2-inch twist around a paint brush handle to curl.

Overlap and hot glue two small silk leaves to the front of the light bulb pumpkin's green stem.

Tie a bow using the raffia. Trim the ends. Hot glue the bow to the pumpkin leaves.
