How to Dye Hair Black & Brown

How to Dye Hair Black & Brownthumbnail
Some hair coloring is more subtle than others, it just depends on the two shades you pick.

When looking to dye your hair, sometimes just one color does not give you the look that you are wanting. When this happens, you might try coloring your hair two separate colors. Using two different colors such as black and brown is quite simple. This process is called two-tone coloring and is used quite commonly by women that are searching for variety in their appearance. It does not take a degree in cosmetology to dye your hair in a way that endorses this want for variety.

    Instructions

    Things You'll Need

    • Black hair dye
    • Brown hair dye
    • Hair comb
    • Hair clips
    • Shower cap
    • Hair dryer
      • 1

Purchase the two different dye mixes, one black and one brown. These dyes can be found at any local beauty or hair care store near you.

Using the hair comb, part your hair horizontally; this should be done just above the ears right where your skull begins to curve. If you want the color to be disproportionate, you may try to part the hair lower or higher to make one section of color larger than the other.

Apply the dye of one color onto the top half of the hair first. Make sure you read the instructions of the dye that you purchased to know exactly how long the dye should stay in and how to rinse it out. Once you are done dying the top half of your hair, clip the hair up so that it will not easily fall and wrap that half in a shower cap.

Repeat the same step with the bottom half of the hair using the other hair dye. Be careful that very little, if any of the opposite dye gets under the shower cap. Once you rinse the dye out, take the shower cap off and blow dry the hair on low heat until all of your hair is dry. This will result in a nicely two-toned hair color of brown and black.
